Sister Andrea Verchuck, looks up at the stained glass inside the Immaculate Conception Chapel at the Saint Benedict Monastery, in Bristow, VA. The Benedictine Sisters of Virginia dates back to 1868, Saint Benedict Monastery was built in 1901 and the Chapel in 1933. Sister Andrea joined the Monastery in 1950 when she was only 15. She says about her decision to become a nun at such an early age, "I think the most rewarding thing was an assurance that this is what I was meant to do. I have had more happiness and more satisfaction and more fulfillment in this than in anything I think I could do." John Boal Photography
